ROSKILDE FESTIVAL NAMED AS TICKETMASTER’S TICKET OF THE YEAR 2015
Ticketmaster Denmark customers reveal their favourite live events of 2015
and their most anticipated event of 2016.
DENMARK, (23rd December, 2015) – Having fought off strong competition from some of this year’s hottest live acts, today Ticketmaster is happy to announce that the Roskilde Festival has been crowned Ticket of the Year 2015!
Roskilde Festival is the largest music festival in Northern Europe, so it was no surprise when it was revealed as the favorite of 2015 as voted for by Ticketmaster’s Danish fans. This year’s lineup included rockers Muse, British songstress Florence and the Machine, and pop sensation Pharrell Williams.
In second place is Fredericia Theatres Shu-bi-dua The Musical, swiftly followed by Volbeat in third position with the biggest show ever performed in Denmark with over 35,000 attendees in Odense.
Fourth place for the Ticket of the Year went to old school rockers AC/DC who stole Danish hearts at their Roskilde show. In fifth place is yet another musical, the classic The Sound of Music.
The results of the Ticketmaster Ticket of the Year poll reveal that Denmark is a hub of culture, with the Danish showing a mutual love and appreciation for both the theatre and live music.
And finally the most anticipated event of 2016, as voted for in Ticketmaster’s Ticket of the Year? No surprises here…it’s Coldplay. They are one of the hottest acts in the world right now having sold out tickets for their 2016 UK tour within minutes of going on sale, and their latest album A Head Full of Dreams smashing the charts across the globe.
Ticketmaster polled its 85 million live entertainment fans across its database to discover who put on the greatest shows this year, as part of the Ticketmaster’s Ticket of the Year 2015. This vote was all about giving a voice to the Ticketmaster fan and a chance to shout about what their favourite live event of 2015 was.
